Summer 2014: Crop Tops + High Waisted Skirts

You have most likely seen this look on almost everyone-- from Miley Cyrus to a 16 year old shopping at Forever 21. It's the hottest trend right now and pretty much anything high waisted is what you see in stores. Celebrities have taken this trend to an extreme in some cases. But, the number one rule when following a popular trend is to make sure you are wearing it right. If you aren't, no point of wearing it. Such as wearing something high waisted and a turtle necked crop top is a big no-no. The last thing anyone would want is to be reminded of the time Spongebob's Striped Sweater Song. You know, "the best time to wear a striped sweater, is all the time, one with a collar TURTLENECK that's the time.." Before you stop by PacSun to pick up a pair of ripped high waisted shorts, make sure you read about this article for do's and don't's for wearing a crop top and all things above the belly button.

Current "Healthy" Obsession: Green Machine

I have been a huge fan of Naked Juices for years. My favorite flavor has been Orange Mango but my Mom brought this for the first time and what I thought when I saw it was yuck. After one sip though, I instantly fell in love. It actually tasted like the Orange Mango flavor. Now, I'm obsessed with this "healthy" beverage. It's also very important to read the ingredients on food items which claim to be good for you. That's when I realized how it tastes so good, because... Well... Look for yourself.

All the good ingredients have less quantity than the sugary fruit alternatives. Fruits are good for you, obviously but this is supposed to be a "green machine" so why bother putting a bunch of non-grass colored foods? Anyways, I find this a better alternative than the Orange Mango. Hey, at least it has kale. Pour it up!

DIY Papaya Mask

Papayas are loaded with vitamins A and C, which help repair the skin. Slathering it on your face also helps dissolve dead skin cells, eliminating dull-looking skin. What’s more, this mask contains egg whites to tone the skin and honey, which acts as a powerful hydrator. Amazing what three simple ingredients can do!

Ingredients:
1/2 ripe papaya, skinned and seeded
1 beaten egg white
1 tablespoon of Manuka honey

Directions:
Mix all the ingredients together in a blender until smooth. Apply the mask and leave on for 20 minutes. Rinse and pat dry. Spray with Cucumber Green Tea Toner. Apply moisturizer or face oil of choice.

UPDATE

Hey guys!

I apologize for not posting anything in the past 2-3 weeks. I have been really busy especially since I'm going to India this summer to meet my grandparents, cousins, family etc. My school is going to end this Friday so hopefully I will be able to type up a couple of posts before my flight out of the country. Once again, I apologize for inconvenience this may be causing you. Thank you and I will track and keep you update as much as possible!

Nikita :)
