DIY Confetti Party Poppers (New Year's Eve)

You’ll need:

Step 1: Cut fringe into crepe paper and trim it to create tiny little squares. Add in store-bought gold star confetti for extra sparkle (optional).

Step 2: To make the poppers, start by cutting the toilet paper roll in half.

Step 3: Cut the crepe paper or tissue paper into a 10″ x 7″ piece. It’s important that the paper you’re using is thin – otherwise, it will be hard to tear if it’s too thick. Place a cracker snap onto the crepe paper and tightly roll the paper around.

Step 4: Trim any excess crepe paper and seal it with 2 adhesive dots. Tie a ribbon around one end.

Step 5: Stuff confetti into the other end until the roll is full. Tie off the other end with ribbon.

Step 6: Fan out the ends and trim the ends of the cracker snap.

Step 7: Done!

Demi Lovato Concert

Last night I had the time of my life, I went to see Demi Lovato at the Prudential Center in Newark NJ. One of the best qualities about her was that she really connected with the whole audience by telling us about her life and of course cracking silly jokes. Unlike other singers, she didn't lip-sync! This is what made me the most happy to know that she actually is putting effort and giving her best, which she did. She so much energy and heart, and I totally love her new hairstyle, it looks really nice on her. I posted some pics below from the concert as well as a lot of videos of the concert on my YouTube channel.

Spooktacular DIY Ideas: Candy Corn, Spider Web + Glow in the Dark Nails

1. Glow in the Dark Nails

Directions: Break a glow stick in half and pour the liquid carefully into clear nail polish.

2. Candy Corn Nails

Directions: Paint your nails yellow. Then leave a thick line of yellow and over that paint it with orange. Repeat same step by painting tips how thick you want with white.

3. Spider Web Nails

Directions: Paint your nails black. Then, use a white striper and draw lines across your nails (shown above). Draw horizontal lines on top to create a web like affect. You can switch up the color combinations for this nail art design.

Trick or TREAT #2: Pretzel Spider Webs

Steps on how to make this Sweet & Salty treat. It's so easy, you will love it!

Directions:
1. Melt your chocolate.

2. While it is cooling…Lay down some wax paper. Add about 10-12 stick pretzels in a circular fashion for each spider web you want to make.

3. Fill a ziploc or other plastic bag with the chocolate.

4. Snip a small opening at the bottom top of the bag and squeeze the chocolate in a circular fashion over your pretzels.

5. Let it cool at room temperature for a few hours…OR you can slide them onto a cookie sheet and pop them in the fridge for about 30 minutes or less. You will know they are ready when the chocolate no longer looks glossy, but has turned completely matte looking.

DIY 20-Minute Pumpkin Face Mask

Pumpkins pop up everywhere during fall: in lattes, baked goods, and you cannot forget about those carved Jack O Lanterns! But you may not have used this  in your beauty regimen yet. As it turns out, pumpkins are great for your skin—they’re loaded with vitamins A, C, and E (all known to fight wrinkles) plus heaps of beta-carotene, zinc, potassium, and antioxidants, which can help eliminate redness.
This face mask recipe takes full advantage of the king of autumn produce. It’s refreshing and tingles just the tiniest bit when you first apply it, and leaves your complexion fresh and glowing. The concoction smells pretty good, too, and it’s entirely edible, so you know it’s good for your skin. As an added bonus, the mask is incredibly easy to make, and you probably already have the ingredients in your kitchen right now!
Ingredients:
2 Tbsp organic canned pumpkin puree or 1 small pumpkin
1/2 tsp organic honey
1/2 tsp milk

Directions

1: Start with clean skin. Remove all makeup and wash your face with your regular cleanser.
2: Combine pumpkin puree, honey, and milk in a small bowl and mix well. If using a fresh pumpkin (or leftovers from a carved jack-o-lantern), scrape the insides and remove the seeds. Beat the gooey insides to a creamy pulp and mix with honey and milk.
3: Apply the mask using your fingers or a medium-sized makeup brush; avoid getting the mixture too close to the eyes. You can also apply to the neck, but you’ll probably need to double the ingredients.
4: Allow the mask to set for about 20 minutes.
5: Gently wash off the mask with a warm, damp washcloth and follow with a moisturizer.

6 Tips for a Salon-Perfect Manicure!

Don't want to spend tons of $$$ on going to the salon and get your nails done? But, still want professional results? Well, aren't you lucky to have such a smart person like me :P because I have all the tips for a salon perfect manicure and all the do's and dont's. Yes, you heard me right!

1. DON'T: Dip your nails in water

Fact: Water can change the shape of your nails

You should not do this because your nails will absorb the water and this will prevent the nail polish to stay on for a longer time and cause it to change the shape of your nails.

2. DO: Push back your cuticles

Fact: Moisturizing cuticles with conditioner in the shower will make it easier to push it back

This will make your nails look longer and is much better then cutting your cuticles which is painful just as much as it sounds especially if you have hangnail. Cuticles are surprisingly important for your body and if you take too much of it off then it will cause it to grow back thicker.

3. DON'T: Use a rough nail file

Fact: Coarse files can cause your nails to split

All nail files have grit which is basically how smooth or rough the surface is and if you use a rough nail file, it's not good for your nails because it peels of the layers causing it to weaken. The lower grits are rough nail files and the higher numbered ones are smooth (the one you want).

4. DO: Buff your nails + cuticles

Fact: Buffing the cuticles smooths it out

This technique smooths the cuticle and makes it super clean (hygiene is key!).

5. DO: Don't skimp on the base/top coat!

Fact: Base coat acts like a double sided tape

This helps the nail polish from staining the nails (especially if you paint them blue) and prevents from chipping. If you're in a rush, many brands carry quick dry base/top coats.
